cause, well, given the reputations that lawyers have ... I'm glad it was based on like, a logic quality and not some shyster quality ;)

ps: Why didn't I call the cops ... I guess I wanted to let well enuf alone ... you know?

: Well, it was a jocular post based mainly on something I read by you where you said that you try to learn both sides of an argument so as to be prepared to defend your side. Nothing that sounds logical to me these days seems to actually transpire the way it should BUT! It sounds logical to me that a good lawyer would learn both sides for the same reason that you have.

: Any lawyer I ever had looked good to these logical eyes but turned out to be a sloppy bastard that never returned my calls, had an attitude about me calling them more than once a century AND lost my case for me.

: But they seem to be pretty good defending the subhumans.

: Some of them have as much compassion and decency for victims as criminals do. How else can they justify defending them? The love of upholding the constitution? Give me a break, that cliche is as old as a 60's hippie is today. Its a clean cut suitntie version of criminal values in a few cases {just like one of those -------- in that pickpocket team was wearing a tie in order to appear unthreatening but kept bumping me hoping I would start a fight} and cynical avarice in the other cases.

: But as much as I detest lawyers, I wasn't feeling it on the day that I jokingly said that it would be a good job for you. I only meant to complement your hard work and should be lawyerly logic in learning both sides.

: I sound like a 4 these days?

: I completely feel for what happened to you. I don't know why you didn't call the cops when you saw him later on. Even though I've been a crime victim before and from what I've personally experienced cops don't do anything unless maybe they are on the scene when it happens or you produce a suspect which as it turns out you had on the redline. But that's my luck and who knows, someone else may actually get results from these cops.

: : This punk may have been carrying a gun and if the cops searched him------ BINGO!

: : Its rotten that these mutts don't care about our feelings. It doesn't bother them at all how you or me as innocent people later responded to what they did. They actually go through life without a conscience which in my eyes makes them subhuman or of another species.

: : We were walking from the train station (JFK/UMASS for the bostonites)
: : : & he asks me the time ... & asks me something else, & a few seconds later he's in front of me, shows me a gun & asks for my money.

: : : So I tell him, ok , give me a second. I take out my wallet & give him the 5 $ I have. Then I say, wait, reach into my pocket & give him my change. I want to complete this transaction properly.

: : : I had been xmas shopping. I had left the house that am with lots of cash! I did however, have bags from my shopping. After the transaction was completed & neither of us knew what to do next, in a split second he looks at my bags. This is too much. What is he gonna do with my stuff from the gap (forgot about the walkman I had bought, in the bag, too) So I say, "This is girl clothes!" & walk. & walk walk walk, fast as I can.

: : : For the whole week, I couldn;t go to my trainstation by the normal route in the morning. It was a good six weeks before I could take the train home at night. I actually saw the kid on the redline once, hangin with his buds...

: : : whaddya gonna do?

: : : Il ham du lilla, I escaped with my life. Yeah, Riv, it sucks that you got robbed. but you didn't get hurt, & well, you learned to be more careful. Stuff like that just happens in life. But, be glad it wasn't worse.

: : : ps: so, why do you *lawyer*?

: : : : I'm fucking in shock. I got my pocket picked today losing including bank card, credit card, photo id, picture id, social security card and other valuable things. I don't feel like talking much about it. Cops couldn't find me for over an hour and all they did was make out a report.

: : : : Big fucking deal. Report.

: : : : I was on a SRO bus {Standing Room Only}. One guy {and I don't know the type or what does it matter?} kept bumping into me. This guy was short, about 5'1' and wearing a nice shirt and tie. Looked like he was coming home from an office job. The other guy behind him was big and heavy maybe 6 feet and dressed street. They didn't look related but the big guy gave him a few nods as if to say something so I knew they were friends.

: : : : But.

: : : : A third guy was to my left and appeared holding on for dear life. But I dimly remembered his hand on the top of my pocket and thought it was strange and a white cloth in the palm of his that was by my pocket. So I looked at him, he was about 5'10' and wore a blue polka dot shirt but I didn't pay much attention and only recalled it later.

: : : : I wanted to get off that crowded bus.

: : : : At my stop, a lot of the people got off. I noticed my pocket felt light and ran back on. Those guys {I still didn't realize there was any team} must have scattered but one guy said to me {a fourth member? I didn't remember the guy who talked to me when I got back on but I dimly remember another one in there} some guy in a red shirt did something funny and got off. I went running looking for a red shirt that I swear I was going to jump because I don't think I could get anywhere by yelling. And I doubt I would have jumped anyone.

: : : :
: : : : Of course no red shirt.
