John and I have been together for 2 years now. A year of that has been long-distance. For cheap phone communication, I use this dial-around number that makes calls only 4 cents a minute. For travel, always booking ahead is the best thing you can do to get cheap rates, whether you're traveling bus, plane, or train. It does seem romantic to just get up and leave your office and hop on a train to visit your beloved, but it'll end up costing you in the end. It's just as romantic, I think, to know weeks ahead of time when you're going to be able to see each other, and talk about how you'll hug and kiss and not be able to stop staring at each other right in the middle of the airport. Having a little "Only 12 more days until we're together again!" can be pretty exciting!
