That's a patently false statement. We only have maybe 80 years to live. Good things have happened before and will happen after our lifetimes. And it does not matter whether or not we are patient. Good things will happen if we are impatient just as often as if we are patient.
And your statement has nothing to do with enlightenment. It's just an illogical advocation of a passive, accepting lifestyle.
