So if/when one of these garbage shuttles goes pop in the upper atmosphere, coating the northern hemisphere with microscopic carcinogenic dust, you reckon it will be worth the cost?

You're willing to die of cancer to make some rich guy's profit stats nicer, because windmills and dams require an output/lethality trade-off?

i'm not upset, just stunned by people's illogic. They'll pay hundreds of dollars for airbags, but not extra cents for a power source that can't kill them.

: I don't mind nuclear power at all. They talk about "where do we put the waste?" I say "What the hell's outer space for?" I'm sure our brains can figure out a way to crash whatever it is they need to crash onto Venus or something like that, to make sure everything is safe. And then you got great potential for science fiction movies about monsters that generated from the toxix waste we dumped on Venus.

: Perry (the city with the nuclear plant) is way out in the middle of nowhere, but they are pulling on tax money hand over fist with that power plant, and the company that put it there isn't SAYING they regret it, but they might be. Perry's public school teachers make more than 95% of the public school districts in the area...

: Nuclear power is funny. It's intimidating, at least for those of us who don't see the plant all the time. My younger brother (17) told me a story about how my dad and him were driving out to his baseball game, played in Perry. As the nuclear plant came into sight, both of them (without planning) simultaneously drew in a deep breath of air and held it in, faux-frightened of the "pollution" caused by such plants.

: They're eerie. Very intimidating.
