Note, if you want to work while you are here, and you are not legal, you will have to find someone willing to let you work under the table. I dont think america has the 'working vacation' exchange that some countries have with each other. That allows foreingers (usually young people) to live and work about 6 mos in a country. : I've already been in the US once and found it not so nice but I think I've made a mistake. It's been like a holiday somewhere and afterwards recognizing that there's been something around there (and if it's just been the athmosphere) that is still interesting and somehow feels inviting again. The little shops for instance that still are open at night, the asocials on the street on their chairs and in their bags, the jewelry shops, the restaurants, the LOEWE-cinema and so on.
