With the Internet getting flashier and more commercial every year, and the act of turning on a computer getting easier likewise, the bar is hence lowered for admittance into the Internet community. Still, participation in a site like this requires certain interests and aptitudes. Sure, the Enneagram system is no stranger to abuse. We're all a little guilty of it - excusing our faults on account of our types, believing we know strangers better than they know themselves, and buying into Enneagram bigotry. How is "I hate Threes" morally different from "I hate blacks"? Granted, such type-based attitudes usually spawn on inappropriate generalizations, but so does racism. In spite of all that, however, a forum like this remains a selective group. Due to our temperaments, some of us would rather go to the bonfire party on the beach than stay up in our hotel room reading philosophy. Some of us are more interested in introspection than others are. Some of us are intimidated by physics and mathematics textbooks, and some of us have poor grammar. Sometimes the relationship between those last two variables is inverse (e.g., "I studied all my life to be an engineer, and now I are one"). Yet, our interest in the Enneagram at least indicates our ability to discriminate an Enneagram book from a slab of beef. :-P ^(oo)^ I'll take Naranjo's _Transformation Through Insight_, medium-rare, with A-1 sauce and a salad.
