Fancy is fine. If a guy wants to gold-plate his car, it'll amuse me and I'll lose respect for his financial judgement. That's because gold-plated cars aren't more dangerous than other cars. The point about SUVs is that they're a danger to the driver and others. The owner of an SUV is an asshole because she doesn't take this into account.
