I like Rogue a lot, but Dark Phoenix I guess has the most developed character. And that little girl - what's her name? The half (or full) oriental one that's like 15? Been a long time since I read any comics.
Definitely Wolverine is my favorite male character though. He just had the most convoluted background and mystery, as well as the most alpha-male attitude.
