I've probably been the strictest vegan here for the longest time (12 years without animal products of ANY kind), but I don't expect the whole world, or even the whole country, to ever convert. My current understanding is that individual differences in dietery needs are significant; there's no "one-diet-fits-all" deal. While veganism worked for me, curing just about every physical ailment, and the majority of mental ailments, that I ever suffered, I don't expect it to work for everyone. Some people switch to veganism and experience no difference. Maybe some people switch and get sickly and lose energy, I don't know.
I can only hope that those people who WILL benefit from veganism will give it a try. Many of these people will have a health history similar to mine - they will suffer extraordinarily, more than most people, under their meat-eating habits, and when they discover veganism and give it a probationary try, the improvement to their physical and mental health will be so drastic they won't revert to their omnivorous ways unless they're insane.
The rest of the people should just do what works for them.
