Thanks for speaking your own personal truth, so that I may be free. Please, continue to write. I need the support.
> I've probably been the strictest vegan here for the longest time (12 years without animal products of ANY kind), but I don't expect the whole world, or even the whole country, to ever convert.
FP: I was the same way. I was a vegetarian between 12 to 14 years.
My current understanding is that individual differences in dietery needs are significant; there's no "one-diet-fits-all" deal. While veganism worked for me, curing just about every physical ailment, and the majority of mental ailments, that I ever suffered, I don't expect it to work for everyone. Some people switch to veganism and experience no difference. Maybe some people switch and get sickly and lose energy, I don't know.
FP: I am going to be honest with you. I would be healthier if I remain a vegetarian. Being a vegetarian and giving up corn syrup products gave my fatigue body more energy! My repressed emotions was stabalized and was able to remember things and heal. I don't remember enertia to be a big problem when I was on a no sugar, no meat, no diary, no refine foods, type of diet. I lost weight without trying to. I ate more food to be honest.
FP: When I have constipation problems, I was indulging in dairy products. The gastrinologist (however you spell it) tested me and told me that if I stop eating dairy products for 30 days, my problems will be gone. That explains why the doctors told my mother not to give me milk in childhood. He forgot to tell her not to give me ice cream and cheese too. My sister told me that she got rid of 25 years worth of mucus in 30 days by giving up dairy products. I never had problems with constipation when I was dairy free. I learned that Asthma is mucus producing, so that gave me a wake up call to wake up and straighten up.
> I can only hope that those people who WILL benefit from veganism will give it a try. Many of these people will have a health history similar to mine - they will suffer extraordinarily, more than most people, under their meat-eating habits, and when they discover veganism and give it a probationary try, the improvement to their physical and mental health will be so drastic they won't revert to their omnivorous ways unless they're insane.
FP: I can relate! You speak the truth that convicts me! You and Emily have reaced a lost soul to be redeemed by vegetarianism again. I guess, I am insane to do something so stupid to myself!! I used to feel so great, energetic, happier, etc... I did not think it would go on this long, almost 4 years. It is not worth it!
> The rest of the people should just do what works for them.
FP: Being a vegetarian did work for me! I am going to reach out to other vegetarians in Albuquerque and seek support. When I left the Seventh-day Adventist church, I left behind my support system, especially when I left Huntsville, Alabama where I had vegan friends there too.
