: Wrong. I have friends with tattoos that don't show. And they don't show them off either. definately an expression of self and not something to hide behind. You may be surprised to learn this, but there are people in this world who are fully confident of themselves and who they are to a point where getting a tattoo is not a form of "hiding" behind anything but rather very clearly a form of expression.

****OK...SOME tattoos are meaningful but MOST tattoos are superficial. It a person has a symbol they strongly associate with, they could
put that on their body in a secret place.

At any rate, tattoos are a desicration of the skin, and largely purchased by the young on impulse and have always been associated with the outlaw fringe of society.
