From where I live, I am an hour away from the beach, an hour away from snow-covered mountains, and an hour away from a dry desert. : : If you're in the mood for the glitz and glamour, we can hop into a red convertible (and let the warm California sun shine down on us while we drive on the 91 freeway) and drive to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We'll cruise down the Sunset Strip and laugh at the midgets and transvestite prostitutes. : : We'll then head out to one of Cali's world famous beaches and soak the sun and surf the waves. We can get a sailboat for two at Newport Beach. We can play beach volleyball at Manhattan Beach. We can work out at Muscle Beach. We can go see the Queen Mary at Long Beach. : : Then we'll hop back into our convertible and head up the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway to the ritzy paradise called Malibu. : : We'll get on a boat and sail 20 miles out to the island wonder called Catalina. We'll get our snorkel gear and gaze at the pretty rainbow fish below us. We'll then put on Scuba gear and dive down to their homes and chase orange Garibaldi fish into green coral caves. : : Or perhaps we could drive an hour and a half south and experience San Diego. You can visit the vast, rich historical parts of it as well as the upbeat, modern areas as well. We'll take a harbor cruise and play roulette on board and sip fine champagne by sunset. : : Maybe the warmth of the sun isn't for you. We'll drive to Big Bear or Mountain High and go skiing and snowboarding. Or we'll go dune-buggying and dirt biking out in the California desert. We can visit Joshua Tree National Monument and listen to the U2 album of the same name. : : California is where it's at. Cape Cod is just a small, homogenous geographical location the size of a flea's butt. =oP : : Come to California.
