: I wish I could find a way to quit. Not everyone succeeds. Is there an Etype or MBTI that is more prone to permanent nicotine addiction?

Fergie's Dad postulated that different types have different vulnerabilities. The result is that smoking, drugging, drinking, prayer,
sex, relationships MAY appeal more to certain types than others.
Everyone is potentially vulnerable to some substitute for real affect.
It is an interesting book, but not necessarily indisputable science.
The insight that introverted sensation (for example) may be the connection
to a particular habit/vice/addiction may provide a path to recovery. There
are no shortcuts to quitting though. That is why the 12 step groups are
trying to provide support for "spiritual" growth/recovery. Kindred spirits
can cut through some of the excuses. Eventually, new behavior is required.
It is not easy. Dying Cancer patients sometimes say, "What the hell. Butt me."
