This is true for me (not just in visual art, but in all mediums of art). I do not like Pollack because he has an abstract subject matter with abstract execution. This is pretty much what all "modern art" is. Some guy puts two blue dots on a white background and says it is a "representation of the dying Indian culture in America". Ok.

Ultra-realism isn't too bad though. This is how many TV and movie dramas work.
