: We find her also the key to my discussion with Dafyd regarding type 2. I label Oldham's PT-type called 'Dramatic Style'(histrionic) as E2 (thereby following the example of Claudio Naranjo):

Nice try. Unfortunately, Oldham's book does not describe the same types as the enneagram does. Why should it?
If you want to use Oldham's system, that's fine. But don't pretend that you're using the enneagram - come straight out and say that
you're using Oldham.

Twos are only histrionic when they are highly stressed (move to Eight) when the needs that they are denying surface.

: The Dramatic personality type:
: ? often seeks or demands reassurance, approval, or praise;

Not a Two. Twos are uncomfortable with praise. My grandmother, who is proactive (not a Nine) can't
stand to be photographed, let alone praised.

: ? is sexually seductive in appearance or behavior;

Fours?

: ? is very concerned with physical attractiveness;

Threes? Fours?

: ? expresses emotion with exaggeration;

FOURS

: ? is uncomfortable in situations in which he is not the center of attention;

Again, not a Two. Twos do not like to be the centre of attention. Even when a Two attracts someone's attention,
there's always a positive movement from the Two to the person that they're acting for. (It's not 'look at me' but
'see, I'm looking at you.' Nines are lacking in that positive countermovement.

: ? displays rapidly shifting and shallow expression of emotions;

Any immature type, but especially immature Fours.

: ? is self-centered: actions being directed toward immediate satisfaction; has little tolerance for the frustration of delayed gratification;

Most immature types. Certainly not Two. (You agree that Twos are not directed towards immediate satisfaction.)

: ? has a style of speech that is impressionistic and lacking in detail.

Vague.

This is a rather negative portrait isn't it?

: Dafyd applies of the 'self-sacrificing style' when he when he's writing about the E2 character; which I label as E9:

Where did I say that?

: The Self-sacrificing personality type:
: ? chooses people and situations that lead to disappointment, failure, or mistreatment even when better options are clearly available;

Six?

: ? rejects or renders ineffective the attempts of others to help him;

Six?

: ? following positive personal events responds with depression, guilt, or a behavior that produces pain;

Six?

: ? incites angry or rejecting responses from others and then feels hurt, defeated, or humiliated;

Six?

: ? rejects opportunities for pleasure, or is reluctant to acknowledge enjoying himself;

One, Two, Six?

: ? fails to accomplish tasks crucial to his personal objectives despite demonstrated ability to do so;

SIX

: ? has little interest in or rejects people who consistently treat him well;

Four.

: ? engages in self-sacrifice that is unsolicited by the intended recipient of the sacrifice.

Two.

But really this type seems to be a neurotic. The enneagram types are mostly neutral with regard to neurosis, hence the
use of the terms healthy/integrated and unhealthy/disintegrated.

: Another interesting type is the 'serious personality'which seems to be an E1 subtype:

: The Serious personality type:
: ? has a mood often dominated by dejection, gloominess, cheerlessness, joylessness, or unhappiness;
: ? has a self-concept which includes beliefs of inadequacy, worthlessness, and low self-esteem;
: ? is critical, blaming, and derogatory toward self;
: ? is brooding and given to worry;
: ? is negativistic, critical, and judgmental toward others;
: ? is pessimistic;
: ? is prone to feeling guilty and remorseful

Now this looks like a Six, doesn't it?

These types are rather at a tangent from the enneagram types aren't they? As are the MBTI types.
That's assuming that they aren't bundles of traits that the researchers have found together because
they expected to find them together. If I understand correctly, people rate a certain value on each
type, and each type is roughly independent of the others, as opposed to the enneagram where people
have one type which is linked to the types on either side by motivation or focus of attention.
