Enneagram Movie Board Archive Demystifying the Ansir types - The IdealistPosted by Jan den Breejen (213.75.36.68) on October 30, 2002 at 13:13:47: The image of the Ansir type Idealist is that of the person plodding on with his work ('workaholic'), they tend to focus on what went wrong (or what is wrong with people), they feel dissatisfied with the way things and there life, are perfectionistic (focus on details that are wrong), they must learn to enjoy, frustration is the stone they whet both tongue and wit on, they are hard to please (few are fastidious enough for this), they have a cool distance (reserve), are introverted, they are discontented and disappointed; even 'intriniscally disappointed', fault finding with life, and see life falling short of what it can/could have been., hardship, workship, handicapped by wearing a cross to heavy to bear; bemoaning etcera. Well this is clearly the same underlying character structure as Oldham's Serious Style ('the glass is half empty') and also the same as (a narcissistic variant of) Millon's Depressive Personality.
