He showed that type of behavior extensively at the beginning of the 1st movie, but as the violence has increased, it has become much more muted. Sam does seem to be ISFJ, likely some 2W1 variant; Riso calls the 2W1, "the Servant ", that seem to be his relationship to his friend, as noted above! Rich

Hello Jan and P:
My problem with the Contrary-Leisurely Style/9W8 is that they both put self interest before even loved ones. Sam proves that he is going to be there for his friend no matter what.... Sam needs a combination of styles that has staying power, that is devoted to others, that can endure extreme hardships. Something like 2W1-Devoted Style with Self-Sacrificing traits ( Millon has such a variant ) or the 9W1 with the depressive Serious Style and a strong Devoted, or Self-Sacrificing Style that will bear hardships for others....

Yes, Sam does show Contrary-Leisurely traits; a strong desire for comfort, peace & quiet, and avoidance of discomfort & danger.... But, that is not nearly as strong as the desire to be of service! Rich
