Calvin seems to be a little narcisistic boy. He seems very self-satisfied, feels others need to do things for him, serve him like a king needs to be served (red carpet syndrome), others are mainly wrong or stupid compared to his genius. He's funny because of the contrast between his lack of any real remarkable performance (success) and his narcissistic fantasies in which he is the genial writer, the grand hero. Calvin says he likes people...as (admiring) public.
