Hello Jan:
I probably went on about movie basics too long, But the studio's future was riding on Lord Of The Rings. They decided that the only way they could ever make all 3 movies, was do them all at the same time. They were more than $ 300 million in the hole, before Lord Of The Rings opened in 2001.... Many rival studios in Hollywood, thought they were going to go under; and that the whole project was a folly! Luckily for them, they got a director that knew & loved the books, and was capable of doing it right!
Some posters on this board think that I am too slavish toward you! I really meant it, when I said that I wouldn't have even tried, until the DVD came out.... I alos meant it, when I said that they vaious characters seem to be about right! ( Gee, there are sure a lot of them! And the movies keeps going back and forth, for extra confusion.... ) Thanks for all that work, you did for us...! Rich
