: This sub-culture represents in its 'purest' formthe archetype of two kinds of styles; the more queit 'sensitive style' and

Sensitive is the complete opposite! One of the Sensitive's worst fears is having someone draw attention to them. People with predominant Sensitive styles look and dress "normal". Not that Sensitives can't be New Wavers, but they would definitely be Closet New Wavers, maybe only dressing that way in company of people they can trust. But certainly not as a main life style where they show the world.

I think the Mercurial style is right. That's an extraverted flamboyant E4 style. However, I think a lot of punks (maybe most) are E6s. They all are angry at the world, are very rebellious, need to take sides "us against the government", really hang out in groups, and their "art" is very dull and plain. It's intentionally primitive, like punk Britain in the late 70s. They hated progressive rock groups like Pink Floyd and Yes, so they came out with this noise and called it punk music. An E4's art style would be more deep I imagine, and not the intentional art of the E6.
