Hello Jan and Everybody:
Charlie, Jan, and I have been discussing Franklin Roosevelt, ( 1882-1945 ). As an historian, FDR prsents a tremendous problem, when talking about his presidency. If FDR ever told anyone else his plans, ideals, schemes, etc, they never told anyone else, and so its lost to history.... Historians have solved this problem, by stating it and moving on!

This is where the advantages of the Personality Styles can help. As late as the election of 1932, FDR was considered a pleasant light weight, a mom's boy. Looking at the styles and at the historical record, we can see that FDR was Aggressive Style; an E 8. They real problem comes in picking which wing type; both 8W7 and 8W9 would explain his pleasure seeking, and his ability to pick up ideals and facts he wanted easily ( even if he didn't always understand it too well! ) Its when we looking at the Adventurous Style, we can see that FDR's childhood was far cry from the childhood of the Adventurous Style. He was a pampered only child, not a hell-raiser.The Contrary-Leisurely Style seems to describe his operational method as president; put things off as long as you can, maybe it will take care of its self....

In fact, FDR closly fits Jan's defination of the Ansir Philosopher ( Which matches Oldham's Leisurely Style ): rejects materialism, ask " why not " questions, rejected the existing power balance in society and business. I would type FDR as Aggressive-Vigilant-Leisurely, a 8W9! Rich
