Hello Jan:
The Sensitive Style, and the Vigilant Style are well suited to be both interested in, and wanting information from the grapevine, since the 2 styles are vitally interested in what is happening in their social environment.
I would dispute that management always wants to KNOW what the grapeview is saying, or what information it contains! Often management tries to stop the " leaks ", or tries to counter the information from it.... The grapeview often exists because, management itself, doesn't know what is happening. In the company I worked for ,ATT, when I started lower level managers and craft were, sometimes, bitter rivals, by the time I retired, they were allies against upper management.... ( Upper management considered the lower ranks of managers to be just as expendable as craft! ) Rich
