I believe that 8's can easily fluctuate between an introverted state and an extroverted state. It is a very perplexing situation for an 8. They want to dominate their environment, but also fear opening themselves to others, thus avoid some social situations, unless they are at L1 or L2. In response to your question, I can think of only a short list. Referring back to James Bond, or the general Secret Agent Type, one can see the type who wants individual control of events and takes the law into their own hands, yet they are in a profession where they are forced to disappear
from society. Arnold's Swartznenegger (I can never spell that correctly) in True Lies. An 8 who rises to The Benevolent State L1, will find themselves so far above society in terms of their ability to manipualte and understand the world that they might become detached, either due to the nature of their power (i.e. Presidents) or intellectual genius, such as Hemmingway.
