He's created his own predictable : world which he watches like a God but never gets involved with. He guards his own : privacy fiercely, we are told, but watches Truman all the time. : (Incidentally, since he doesn't have to take responsibility or confront people, he : becomes a control freak - Fives do control their immediate environment - the things : that are really important to them.) : Since Christof is a head type, motivated by fear himself, he assumes that Truman : will not want to escape into a world which is not predictable and safe - a world : which Christof considers equally mendacious as his own. : (Some character types: I initially thought Truman was a Seven, but the discussion : below convinces me that he's equally likely to be a Six. People who can't see the : similarity between Sixes and Sevens would do well to look. : His 'wife' is probably a Three; she can't tell the difference between acting love : and really loving.
