: Obviously, they're not entirely independent. (Eg the number of extravert Fives is somewhere between very : few indeed and none.) However, the S-N axis is fairly independent of type. (Fours probably do tend to : be N more than other types do. Fives, well, maybe but I'm not sure.) The proportions of each type S-N may : vary but I shouldn't think they do so to any very great extent. : Dafyd Hmm... I would be inclined to say that the S-N axis is a bit more type-dependant than you would expect... Mind you, I suspect that different enneatypes use the S-N axis differently... A few examples... 4s are going to be pretty strong N... However, there's going to be some S component to their aestheticism... 5s - probably mostly NT - 5s tend to go in for abstract thinking, and would rather occupy themselves with the world of ideas (N) than the immediate reality in front of them (S). However, they are probably likely to have a lot of S attitudes... 7s - generally S - a lot of real-world involvment, but (depending on who you read) however - there's the 7s interest in possibilities and connections (N), and their way of escaping pain by looking forward to the future or reminiscing about happy past events (N)...
