a. Introversion vs Extraversion:
Introversion: when at school his classmates remember him as the quiet lonely guitar player sitting in the grass. He has a nerdy serious look with his new glasses. He seldom holds interviews. He hates commercial glamour; doesn't need to be the center of attention (actually he looks more like a roady in his jeans and T-shirt on stage.) After the gig he likes to sit alone behind the table; his head in his arms like the Rodin statue. Quite a contrast with the glamour boys which the Rolling Stones are!
b. Intuition vs. Sensing:
Sensing; Clapton never was a futuristic visonary but always blended with what he saw; a beard in the sixties; heroine and booze in the seventies, womanizer and Armani addict in the nineties; and now what? In a T-shirt with the Volkswagen label on stage! Merging with the times!
c. Thinking vs Feeling:
So much feeling: not only in his songs which were so full of emotion and heartbreaking solo's. He spend many hours and millions dollars to the 'good works'; mostly anti drug projects; often being the anomynus (introversion!) helper.
d. Judging vs Perceiving:
Perceiving: he's the natural, Keith Richards ounce mentioned in an interview with the Guardian: 'I never got the idea that he allowed himself to be pushed to the great hights he was able to reach. He always made sure that nobody kicked his ass; and being kicked was what he needed most'. Clapton allways was doubting and never made clear choices.
So: ISFP. Clapton a nice E9 vignet! The Germans call him 'Mann ohne Eigenschaften' (man without profile; a chameleon).
