Enneagram Movie Board Archive Can everything be accounted for by ratty external forces? Don't think so.Posted by Jan den Breejen on December 10, 1998 at 15:43:36: In Reply to: Re: 'different economic systems for different national cultures' posted by Dafyd on December 07, 1998 at 14:09:01:
It sounds quite fatalistic; there is one system, the capitalist and it's negative for some peoples. I think its quite naive to think that national culture has nothing to do with it and that all problems are caused by ratty external capitalist forces. Why are some non western ex-colonies extremely succesful (Hong Kong, Singapore) and others (Surinam and African countries) not? The governments were non democratic in al of these countries. So what causes the differences? Just when travelling you can see the differences; in some countries the people are very performance based and in others they have an easy going nature. The last peoples certainly have a disadvantage because the economic system doesn't play by their rules. Never seen the attitude differences in poor and rich neighbourhoods of a city? There is certainly a connection between economic succes and personality structure. Never read personnell adds? Good paying jobs all require E3 attributes. There is a huge discrimination on personality in the economic world. It's too simple to think that every culture has the same chances in todays world economic system if some miracle program would put all countries along side each other on the starting line for the economic productivity race.
