I appreciated your analysis of "Seven," and I would have to see the movie again to refresh my memory, but when I first saw it I though the Morgan Freeman character was a 4. He was very melancholic, he seemed to withhold himself because of entitlement...that he deserved better...better than how he had been treated over the years. The younger character added life to him, but he was worldly worn and tired and would have prefered to stay in his room. He would have preferred to have figured out things alone, as if people were images to him...sort of disconnected from his special world. And in that very sad final scene as he quotes Hemmingway, I had the feeling that he was less angry than just resigned to the nature of the world. This all comes from memory, but I after I see it again I would love to continue this conversation.
