I knew that the 4/5 hubbub would be an issue if the discussion ever turned to the subject of Calvin. My personal bias is toward 4w5, just as it is for his infamously reclusive creator, Bill Watterson. Does he expect to be pampered by his mother? Does he expect to be considered exempt from the standards of his peers? Does he believe he was born for notoriety? Does he think that the history of the world exists only for the purpose of having led to his birth? The answer to each preceding question is Yes.

Hobbes: 9w1 sounds good. There's a zen-like teacher quality in him, too.

Calvin's father: 1w9. Discipline, character, and dry wit.

Calvin's mother: 9w8. Can't cope with stress... a perfect comic foil for Calvin's antics.

Suzy Derkins: 6w7. Remember when she bemoans her chances of getting into college because Calvin, as her school project partner, caused her to fail?

Miss Wormwood: 1w2. Can't really explain this one.

Moe: 7w8. Calvin never did anything to him; he's just a schoolyard bully because he relishes it.
