This is a more subtle sitcom 'for the common man' from the 1970's, subtle indeed compared to Married with Children (UK vs USA culture). - George: sloppy, ignorant, lazy E9
- Mildred: loyal, worrying E6
- male neighbour: E1; the irritated nitpicking accountant archetype (Laurel -E9- and Hardy -E1) like scenes with George)
- female neighbour: E9, complacent, nice contrast with E6 Mildred (minimizing the problems her E1 husband an E6 Mildred maximize)
