Enneagram Movie Board Archive JACKY KENNEDY - your are how you cook : cultural elitism and refinement means: E4Posted by Jan den Breejen on February 15, 1999 at 14:01:48:

In the new book IN THE KENNEDY STYLE (Doubleday) we can read the high standards Jacky Kennedy had (Yes E1 and E4 are closely connected enneatypes!) when it came to cooking. Contrary to most 'cooking like the rich and famous'-books, we can read about Jacky's refined personal style. Like many E4's she was enchanted by the French way of doing things with grandeur and in style. Jacky brought with her art and culture to the White House and no first lady has surpassed her. She was able to draw attention to herself in a way that made Jack look bleak indeed; E4's can become the (uneasy) center of attention by their stylish melancholic aura. Her marrying promescuous Jack is also typical of the E4 tendency to walk on ways that lead to dark futures. But to return to the way she gave her personal touch to the thing E7 Jack liked most (entertainment): 'The entertaining is going to be very important to us. I want to make it warmer, more gracious, MORE DISTINGUISHED'. Jacky's famous dinner parties made Joe Sixpack & Wife (by the way; the adagium 'you are how you cook' is also illustrated by 'culinar genius' Roger Moore who writes in his book: 'If you don't like my recipes, look in the Yellow Pages for a caterer': E7-ish narcissism combined with 'funny' escapism!)
