Maybe I contradicted myself on Linus' leadership abilities. But doesn't the moral of the Christmas story revolve around his message? His speech inspires Charlie Brown to cast off materialism. It is his blanket that restores the tree that just needs "a little love." Maybe the blanket is less about insecurity and more about a romantic attachment to home and undconditional motherly love. People don't carry pictures of their kids in their wallets because will forget what they look like. And we don't call this insecurity. They thumb through their wallets to revive the sensation of love. Maybe you could call the hunger for this feeling an "insecurity," but it seems a more 4ish than 6ish.
