I read an interview with the two band members and it seems that they are very different characters; Walter Becker is very practical and optimistic and image focussed ('do you know a good place for us to perform in The Netherlands?', '...it works'); seems to be an E3 (dr. Oldham: Self confident style). Donald Fagen is described by the journalist as someone who seems not capable of dealing with life, Fagen sighs a lot ('what a fucking job we have') and when Becker talks about Hawaii Fagen starts talking about the negative sides of Hawaii, he imagines the snakes, spiders and lizzards (which Becker says cannot be found there) and says that in Hawaii grape fruits fall from trucks ; 'Ananas...they kill you...' I guess he's an E4 and (was) the creative mind.
