TITANIC STAR Kate Winslet confesses that she contemplated suicide as a deeply depressed anorexic. "When I was 19 or 20, one minute I thought I had it all sorted I out and knew who I was. Next minute I could be suicidal and very confused," Kate, 24, admitted. Kate was anorexic for about six months. "I was very thin and I wasn't eating," she said. 'I was so unhappy. "I feel for anorexics because they're being screwed up by what is said to be beautiful and successful these days, thin and pretty. "I'm healthy, I swim a mile, but I'll never be a stick insect and I wouldn't want to be either." (even when things go well in her life she still gives it a negative swing; JdB) Kate credits her new husband Jim Threapleton with helping turn her life around. Without Jim I wouldn't have been able to get off that emotional roller coaster. "I've chilled out a lot more because of my wonderful husband. I'm me, and that's it. He loves me for me." Kate said she battled yo-yo weight problems for years in her late teens and early 20s before Jim gave her the courage to accept herself as she is -a young woman with curves. She did go on a Brussels sprouts-only diet to lose 10 pounds before lensing nude scenes with co-star Harvey Keitel in the new movie Holy Smoke.

Suicidal, emotional roller coaster, over-sensitive to (supposed) criticism, trying to be someone different out of inferiority feelings… Kate Winslet matches very well with what dr. Oldham describes as the Mercurial character style; which most enneagrammists would call E4.
