Since a lot of persons have written about Poseidon; just like on sun signs; there is no pure enneatype to be associated with Poseidon. However when putting all symptoms together I would bet he's not an E8 but an E1 archetype. What are the key words that typify Poseidon? ANGER (the 'deadly sin' called IRA); WRATH (Margret Fringe Keyes calls this the 'shadow issue' of the E1), RESENTMENT (Stephen Wolinsky calls this the key underlying state of E1-ishness), MOODY (see Narango's Transformation through insight p. 17.) E8's are not grumpy and moody! And E8's suffer from a slowly build up but long lasting WRATH; but just throw it out immediately. Remember earth quakes have a slow buildup; E8's agression is like a flash. Poseidon lived under the cold see; the anger is contained until it bursts and he surfaces. E8's don't contain their anger. So my conclusion is that perhaps Poseidon is no pure E1 but more E1 than E8....
