CATHERINE DENEUVE - the french movie star and 'ice queen': definitely E5

She's distant; seems to live in her own private mind and her sex appeal is partly based on the challenge to males to draw her attention outwards; I guess? She looks cool and superior, sharp intellect but also quite sterile: no emotions are visible and timeless. The French call these national movie icons 'les monstres sacres' (the holy monsters.) Behind her cool and reserved facade is a shy girl who gets nervous when she is at the center of attention; as can be seen in a documentary on the 1964 Cannes movie festival: she looks intimidated by the public that stares at her. Perhaps the absolute introverted concentration so typical of E5's is a way to deminish public attention? She said she felt like an 'instrument' of the movie maker. 'I try to prevent feeling emotions'. She was so independent she didn't want to marry her lovers.
