In response to a post down lower....

It seems that Oldham distinguishes between the slavish fobic E6 (dependent) and the counterfobic assertive
rebellious E6 with his vigilant style. I think vigilant survivor would be a good way to describe Mel Gibson (the
crocodile hunter is an adventurer; he likes the danger; Mel doesnt)

I would say the Sensitive Style fits better with E6 than E4. It's true that E4's can get self-conscious, but the Sensitive style is much more than just being self-conscious. Sensitives perceive the world as dangerous and are quite paranoid and anxious about the future. They fear the unknown and meeting new people. They are also a common style according to Oldham, and there are much more E6s than E4s in the world. Sensitives also tend to be quite conventional and "normal". They prefer to blend in than stand out - in fact, being perceived as unique or different frightens them! They also try to be nice at all times to people, they rarely show their anger. They desperately want people to like them, so they don't get moody or temperamental like an E4.

My conclusion is that Sensitive is mostly an E6 style, but it's possible that E4's may have it in one of their top styles. The only thing E4s have in common with the Sensitive style is the self-consciousness and emotional sensitivity. The rest of the style is much more introverted, phobic E6.

And one last thing: statistics show that Sensitive style occurs in common with Devoted (E6), Mercurial (E4), Paranoid (E6), Solitary (E5/9), and Idiosyncratic (E4/5). It would make sense that these "clusters" of styles would make up an Enneagram type. So there are Sensitive-Mercurial people (E4) and Sensitive-Devoted-Paranoid people (E4). Sensitive might score high in E5 because of the E4 and E6 wings.
