: Is there any MBTI-veteran who can say something about my hypothesis that Batman represents the ISTP archetype? I've read Andy's message of a link between psychopatic persons and ISTP. I've seen many writers associate ISTP with E5 but I think there is a problem here in that E5's like to think things out before starting action and the ISFP is an on the spot troubleshooter loving risky and exciting situations; generating a 'who was that masked man'-feeling? Also the ISTP hates 'theorizing' and loves action (grease monkey using little words; like The Fonz in Happy Days; being a car mechanic). Also the natural talent for handling tools (like Marlboro man John Wayne) seems to suggest E8. My hypothesis II is that ISFP could be (counterfobic) E6. Anybody can say something sensible on my guestimates?
: Jan

I know an ISTP. He works in a factory. Have a huge weapon collection.
Got a huge satelite dish he watch porn on. Of course he got stuff
for decoding that doesn't give a cent to the tv companies. Does a lot
of hunting (of course he got illegal radio stuff for the hunting
(I know, because I have repaired
a tranceiver for him....., I am a tecnichian would you have guessed that..:)
, and he listens on the police radio. He walks a lot alone in the woods.

Funny enough, he brags almost all the time, atleast when I am around.
I guess 9w8.

Intresting enough, I have never seen any woman around him, and kind of breaks
the link between ISTP-s and womanising.

My car mechanic (I do most of the stuff myself, but not everything)
are also an ISTP. He got a quite explosive temper, and can shout quite suddenly,
yet he got a lot of experience, and are great at fixing cars, he are also
quite lazy, probably a 9w8. If I ask him to fix something he certainly does not
do more than he have to.

I had my new hopeless car at a other garage (to do some work on it that my mechanic refused
to do), and after what they said it sounded like I
should need to replace most of the braking system. The ISTP, said everything was just
fine, nothing to worry about. This istp, also got an istp son, and he certainly
drives like a wild man, yet I think istp-s are very good drivers.

But I think the best type at handling a car are an ISFP.
Michael Scumacher are probably an ISFP.

I know an ISFP by the way. He are a probably 7w6 .
Yet I don't think this person fear mutch at all.
Look's like an absense of fear, but this could of course be a
countherphobic person.
This person are also very non-intellectual, still very funny, and good with
practical jokes.

He was testing hi's car......He had to take it to the max, but of corse...He had to
close the sunroof, with one hand at the steering, to achieve top speed...:)
To I guess he managed to drive around 3 times as fast as the speed limit.

I know two more ISTP-s, they bouth seems like a countherphobic sixes (finally)
One does reckless car driving (smashed two cars), the second does hang-gliding
and a lot of other risky stuff.

Yet the funny thing is of all the persons I have mentioned, I am probably
more of a psychopath than any of them. Amd I am supposed to be an ENTP...:)

Anyway.......

I think batman was two persons...One with the mask......ISTP....
And another person without.......INFJ.....
