1. I think he trust he's perceptions more than hi's judgement.
2. He is is an introvert.

This leaves that he is an introverted sensate or introverted intuitive.

To me......In him it seems that an extroverted sensation triggers an introverted
kind of intuision. In a way, he seems to be obsessed with a perverted
way of extroverted sensation, suggesting this is a underdevenloped
function, like it would be in an INTJ (not ISTJ).

That happpens in an ISTP to, but not in the same way...
