It's a real fun game, although I don't play it much anymore. Anyways, about the personality traits in the game.

Neat/Messy: Being neat isn't too important in the game. Your Sims make a mess, but you can just hire a maid to clean up.
Outgoing/Shy: Yea, you have to be an extravert in this game if you want it easier. If you make them very extraverted, they get in the hot tub naked, even with friends.
Active/Lazy: Kind of the difference between a vibrant E7 and a sluggish E9.
Playful/Serious: I like playful characters because you can do much more with them, like tickle and tease. Serious ones are alright too, they like reading books and stuff.
Nice/Mean: Nice is the most important factor. It's easier to get along with others and make the game easier.

Enneagram types for characters that would succeed easily: 1, 2, 3, 6, 7
Enneagram types who would have difficulty: 4, 5, 8, 9

Best MB types for characters: ESFJ/ENFJ
Worst MB types for characters ISTP/INTP

So, this game does reflect real life on which personalities have it easy and which don't.
