I had trouble reconciling Beethoven and Orson Welles as being E4s – they always looked E8 to me, seemingly too aggressive for E4. They’re the only two examples I’m aware of so far, but there does seem to be a type of E4 that can resemble E8 or a ‘heavyweight’/aggressive E2 (Bill Cosby or Jerry Lewis in their uglier moments?) – or somewhere on the E8 to E2 line.
I believe that the idea that anyone in human form (i.e. able to walk, talk, think, sense, etc.) being ‘beyond’ enneatype is a contradiction in terms. I believe that being ‘beyond’ enneatype implies being ‘unmanifested’.
: The Jesuit writers seem to claim Jesus as being some sort of perfectly balanced reflection of God and incorporating all types, and this is a pleasant theory, but I have my doubts - it does seem to make him a little too unhuman. Question: if a human being were fully realised in some Buddhist or other spiritual sense, would they incorporate all Types or none, or an enlightened version of their own type? : Personally I've always seen Jesus as a Four, because he was a scape-goat and got crucified! He said things that people couldn't handle as the statements were too real for them. He could be with others in their pain and was tempted towards grandiosity. He saw himself as someone special, but wanted othes to feel a sense of self-worth too. I think he was a 4w5 as he needed to spend time alone thinking and praying and could get overwhelmed by the crowds, and he liked simplicity, consider the lilies etc. I could expand further but I won't as this board is supposed to be about film and I don't know why Brian C. raised the question here and not on the Mainboard. Me and Dafyd discussed this on the Mainboard I think some time ago, but I've changed my opinion since then, and am prepared to say I think he was a 4w5, even though I realise I risk being ridiculed.
