A couple weeks ago Vladamir Putin was discussed and the consensus seem to be that he was a 6. At the time I didn't know enough about him to comment, but after reading the article about him in yesterday's New York Times, I'd like to suggest he's a 3. In the article a classmate of him says, "His most outstanding trait ... is his strong will to achieve goal". 3's are the most goal-oriented type. He consistently excelled at whatever he attempted. In school he was top ranked in martial arts, and when he was planning on becoming a chemist he was got top grades in Chemistry, but when his goals changed from Chemistry to humanities his grade in Chemistry dropped. That is his high scores were to support his Goal, not because of any true interest in Chemistry. When his goal no longer involved Chemistry he no longer bothered with it. That seems to me to be a 3 character. Also when he was in school he was "the hardest-working of all", he seemed to be involved in everything. Another classmate says "Putin didn't have mach free time at school and when he did he spent it on sports". 3's fill all their free time; they do not like to leave any time unscheduled. After graduating he became a spy, and he traveled frequently to the west. Nobody knows exactly what he did but we do know that he speaks perfect German and can even mimic the different dialects, we can guess what he did. Can you think of a more perfect job for a 'Performer' than that? After the Soviet Union collapsed he returned to Leningrad and joined the city government. "He also became known as a exacting, workaholic taskmaster who gave underlings one chance -two, at the most, to reach a goal." 3's are the classic workaholics, and for 3's nothing, people, not anything is more important than the 'goal'.
