: ? You ARE be wrong; here are the page referrals from dr. Oldhams book; second edition (literal citations!):

: : : +++ Comments by Jan
: : : dr. Oldham describes as main traits of the Self-Confident character style:
: : : 'lacks empathy, is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others' >>>> Oldham page 99, point 7.

:
: Oldham also writes 'they are able to take advantage of other people to achieve their goals and are shrewd (i.e. unreliable/situational) in their dealings with others' >>>> Oldham page 99, point 6.

Okay, you didn't get it from me: sorry. But what you say is still wrong - and seriously wrong. What you're quoting from on Oldham's page 99 - and I'm looking at it right now - is Oldham's exact reproduction of the DSM-IV criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It's clearly stated that that's what it is and, as you know, in each Personality Style chapter Oldham reproduces the DSM criteria for the Personality Disorder from which he derived that style. Oldham's listed description of the traits and characteristics of the Self-Confident Personality Style is actually on page 86, and is reproduced here.

I don't understand how you mixed-up these two definitions. I hope you're not equating Self-Confident Personality Style and Narcissistic Personality Disorder - Dr. Oldham certainly doesn't.

Dave
