Enneagram Movie Board Archive More on the O-TypesPosted by Cory on April 01, 2000 at 15:19:24: In Reply to: Re: Very interesting posted by Dave Kelly on April 01, 2000 at 10:52:11: 1) You said you like to use a single type in the classical way. I guess that's fine, but I prefer looking at personality entirely and seeing how each of the 16 styles play together within us. I think for self-development and for any deeper understanding of the self we have to focus on all 16, but as an introduction or to get the "gist" of a person, you could use a single type. It's easier to say I'm Inventive instead of Inventive-Sensitive-Leisurely-Vigilant-Dramatic, etc. 2) I really like Oldham's system because I see a lot of potential in it, and it hasn't been tainted by numerous conflicting theories on it, like the Enneagram. Anyways, I am considering writing a test for it which uses all 16 types, and not just the 13 or 14 I have seen. Even though Inventive and Artistic are your own inventions, they add more depth to the system since they are different types altogether. Do you know how to code CGI or Java script tests? 3) Now that you got a good custom description for Inventive, it's time for Artistic! Is "cyclothymic" a personality disorder in DSM? Is it the same as manic-depression/bipolar disorder? 4) There should be some two-letter abbreviation system for the types. Like, Self-Confident would be SC, Leisurely would be LS, Solitary would be SO, Vigilant VG, etc. I'm going to be late for an appointment...who cares. I'll write more later. -Cory : : That "Shy NPD" sounds a lot like me. When I'm not at my best, of course. What enneagram/MB type do you see the introverted, covert narcissist as? : The one we've been talking about! the 3w4/ENTP. : : PS - I added your PTypes correlation table to my correlation collection. Now I have everything there. :) : I love it. Thanks very much, Cory. : Dave
