Enneagram Movie Board Archive What I don't get...Posted by Cory on April 06, 2000 at 15:29:46: In Reply to: Re: Hillary Clinton, Al Gore posted by Dave Kelly on April 06, 2000 at 10:35:20: Keirsey says the closest "cousin" to the INFP is the ENFP, and likewise to all other types that I/E is the lowest in importance. But, what if a person has an extreme of one attitude...very introverted or very extraverted...then a judgement function is ambiguous. Like an INFP with Extreme I, Moderate N, Barely F, and Moderate P. I would say this INFP is more like an INTP than an ENFP. I'm just using myself as an example. I'm skeptical of the Myers-Briggs "dogma" around, especially regarding function and function order. As a result, I have come up with my own intepretation, which in my case, seems the most accurate. According to traditional MB Theory, my function order is What I have noticed about me is I am quite adept at some of the lower functions, especially Ti. So, I came up with a new order. Basically, what you do is find the percentage of each of the 8 letters. The Keirsey Temperament Sorter does this for you. It gives you like I = 80%, E = 20%, N = 60%, S = 40%, etc. You then add up certain letters with each other, and get a combination score. Using my scores this is my function order... This is a more accurate portrait of me. I really just started contemplating this all today, so it's a newborn idea. It may have holes in it, but it can be worked out. How to find your True? Type Order First you calculate a rough estimate of the percent you are of each letter. A test which gives a bar graph, such as the Keirsey Temperament Sorter is a good tool. Once you have the numbers for each type, add the following up. The highest number for a combo is your main type. Put the functions in order of highest value. This is your function order. By the way, would a predominant introverted feeler with low thinking be so engrossed with something like this? With my order, it makes this possible since I'm primarily an ideas person (N) with support from values (F) and analyzations (T). -Cory
