P,

: What convinced you cage was an INFJ?
----He's obviously introverted, displays inuitive rather than sensing behavior(as most actors do)is obviously more feeling than thinking9again mosts actors do--consider how he plays his roles and what his roles usually are. The guy's a romantic.)and his judging ris apparent again in his roles and in his interviews. he ins't a passive perceiver--he is an active judger. This a guy who took his name(cage) fro a a cmic book hero.. Hetroes judge.

: I cannot stand cage in most movies as he plays reactionary
: loud mouthed, profanity spewing morons.
-----Apparently you haven't seen most of his movies--what you interpret as lod-mouther I interpret as confidence; reactionism? In Leaving Las Vegas yes but thast was the point of the movie. In his other movis he generally plays a sort of rebel or revolutionay which is POSITive reactionism(without postive reactionism the US of A would not exist); as forspewing profanity, you are definitely mistaken. In most of his movies he actually plays intelligrnt well-spoken charaters who utter very little profanity( save the FREAKING DAY NOT THE OTHER F-WORD REMNEMBER?)aNY PROFANITY HE DOES UTTER IS APPROPIATE FPOR THE SITUATION(sorry about caps)The two movies in which he uteers themost profanity are Moonstruck and Leaving Las Vegas and again that is appropiately matched to the characters he portrays. Putting that all aside, you seem to miss the fact that most movies have a great deal of [profanity in them from al the stars so that fact alone negates your case against cAGE.

: Now michael landon was an infj. Seemed like a 4w3. He played
: truly altruistic, noble characters.
----Indeed he was and indeed he did and I loved his work--but he wasn't a movie star like cage, now was he? If he were you can bet the angel would have fallen(at least verbally).

: The same is not true of cage.
------Erooneous, my friend. Many of age's characters have been defined by being altruistic and noble--even his flawed ones(the traqgedy of Leaving Lasd Vegas was precisely that such a noble, decent man succumbed to a wekness as base as alcohol). In Con Air, he plays a highly decorated ranger who singl;e-handedly takes down a planeful of the worst of the worst. That kind of character DEFINES nobility and altruism. In the Rock, he play a naturally passive scientist who calls on the courage he needs to perform herouically. In Amos and Andrew,he plays a goody guy who alwys gets into bad situations. His nobuility is shown in his attempts to foil the plotting of the bad guy sherriff. In Lost in Paradise, he palys a good man--yet again--who is in a bad situation and is flawed(primarily becasue of those around him). In the end he does hwt is right and earns the love of a very noble and decent woman. In his new movie he plays an ambulance driver(bering an ambulance driver basicallylly requires one to be altruistic). And last but not least, in City of Angels he palys(GASP!) an
ANGEL! Just like Michael Landon!(Nly Cage's angel didn;t SMOKE!)You can't get any more noble and altrusitic than thatunless you're GOD). Nice try(actually it really wasn't)but no cigar(of course seeing as how you know landon palyed an angel who died of smoking, you probably know better than to engage in said habit)
: act aggressive and ultra macho to offset a strong feeling function.
----Hmmm..could be....But no it isn't. Cage likes playing heroes and anti-heroes who are actually heroic precisely becasue of his IF functions. INFJ's are romantics, dreamers, altruists, and idealists precisely becasue they feel so much. Herosim springs forth from dreams to accompish something;from romatic feelings for another; for love of Humanity;and from knowing how things should be but aren't. Given that they feel so Much, INFJ's have great potentuiazl for heroism inside. Some grow up to actively be heroes in real society; others--like Cage--express theri feelings and thweir inner heroism through stories that inspuire others to heroism asnd noble thoughts and eeds. This is a guy who took his name--CAGWE--from a comic book hero. His character portrayls have nbothing to do with wnating to counteract his feeling function;instwead they are the meium through whu=ich he EXPRTESSES that function.

I suggest you go back and watch some of his movies-if you can't find anything inspiring asbout them, I will seriously be worried about you.

MAverick

P.S. I personally like Michael Landon and his work and don't think foucus on the positive should be replaced by focus on the negative, but since you were comparing them you might be intetrested to know that ML'
s son recently wrote a book blasting his father for all kinds of reasons--seems he had a dark side. No such blastying of Cage has occurred and I doubt ever will.

: : Andy,
: : Great movie Pick!

: : I agree that Cage is an INFJ but his enneatype is definitely a 4 with either a 3 or 5 wing(both are rather strong in him). As for his con air character, Poe is definitelya 3 with a 4 wing--his character is a highly decorated ranger wwhich indicates a greta desire for success and achievement as well as adventureHe also shows a 3's tendency to show off(I'm going to save the feaking day!"). His 4 traits are the result of Cage himself,I think and are indicvated by his loner nature(trusts no one)and by his attitude towards his wife and daughter(my hummiongbird--the words of a poet). Cage is one of the best actors in movie history.

: : Maverick

: :
: : Cameron Poe

: : : To me Cage are playing a typical hero, in this movie I think cage are playing an 9w8 (cage are likely a 9, type INFJ , often playing ESTP roles) saving the day. In his movies he mostly play 9w8.

: : : John Cusack .... Vince Larkin This seems to be an E-1, deciding to get his hands diry in the moment of taking his boss car.

: : : John Malkovich --- Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom

: : : The bad guy, seems to be very brilliant, probably an ENTJ and an enneagram type 8.

: : : Garland 'The Marietta Mangler' Greene
: : : This seemimly harmless (hannibal style) serial killer seems to be an E-5. He analyse everything, and make som brilliant remarks.

: : : .... Johnny 'Johnny-23' Baca

: : : This sadistic raper (claiming he'd be johnny 800 if he had been caught for everything), seems to be an enneagram type 3. Seemingly disturbed man that have tattoed a rose for every woman he are convicted for.
