If you want an example of an actor who is REally a caricature of himself, I refer you to Ar-nold.(shwarenegger that is) Cage's choice to play heroes is no different that Robin william's choice to play "Seize the Day" chareacters(ftrom Keating tothe GWH doc)or Tom Cruise's choice to play cocky mavericks(From Top GUn to cocktail to the Color of Money).
