That's the problem with letting the viewers vote instead of the contestants. I would wager most people vote for people they don't like. "He's outspoken and racist? Get rid of him!".
Survivor was just an experiment but it already showed drama is needed to make it interesting. What would Survivor be without the outspoken, politically incorrect, but lovable Rudy? What would Survivor be without back-stabbing and shifting alliances? What would Survivor be without Colleen walking around in a bikini showing off her perfect hourglass figure?
Big Brother is just a bunch of boring people sitting in a house TALKING.
The appeal of Survivor is that it puts ordinary people in an unordinary circumstance. Living in a house with people...that's pretty damn ordinary.
Just some Survivor typings...
Sean, the doctor...clearly a Feeling type (apparently). He was overly concerned about not hurting anyone's feelings or getting on their bad sides. ESFP 9w8.
Gretchen, the "leader" of the ill-fated Pagongs. She was probably either an ISFJ or ISFP and a 9. Very practical.
BB, the other old man who was kicked off very early. He was probably a 1 - extremely strong work ethic, critical, and didn't listen to others. Gretchen was trying to convince him to build the hut near the jungle so they have shelter but he wouldnt consider it. ISTJ to the max.
Ramona, the black woman who got sick alot. Maybe a 5 IxTP. She didn't mingle with others and was the odd person out.
Joel, the so-called "chauvinist" who was kicked out of the Pagongs even though he was their only hope for winning, was probably a 9w1. (The Pagongs had a helluva lot of 9s).
Dirk, the Bible-thumping guy who hung out with Sean in the beginning. I'm tempted to say 9 but he went on TV and said that the strength he gains from his faith scared the others, so it leads me to believe that maybe he's more of a 6. Truth was, people were just Annoyed by his constant preaching, they weren't threatened by him.
I dont think Rudy is an ESTJ. From further analyzations he seems to be an ISTP. He is definitely not extraverted (outspoken, but not extraverted) and he is much more of a Perceiver than Judger. The reason he's still going is because he is actually quite ADAPTABLE to the current situation. He's also quite lazy and doesn't work too hard. BB on the other hand is the archetypal STJ type.
I typed Sue as an ESTP 8w7, but I'm not sure. She is a very hard worker. Same with Kelly. The more I see Sue the more I think she is actually a counterphobic 6 and an ESTJ. She has developed a strong bond with Kelly. I dont think shes independent enough to be an 8 or an ESTP.
Kelly is very hard to type. She's quiet and you cant really catch her. If I had to wager a guess I'd say shes an ISTP. Her loyalties are constantly switching between the Older people and the Younger ones. She's also a very serious person.
