![]() The archetype behind the Egyptian Sungod Ra/Re (Helios/Apollo) and the relation to Shakespeare's Midsummer Nights dream. The Egyptians recited hymnes to Ra which expressed the thankfulness and adoration towards the god which was indispensible for giving warmth and light to the earth people; on a reliable daily basis. Ra was called 'the god that shaped itself' (pride; no need for Ra for being thankful) and had 'her' planet children manipulated in a firm inescapable relation encircling her. So we can see the E2 archetypical character style behind Ra. Shakespeare's play happens during the solstium period, the period around 21th of July when the sun seems to stand still above our heads and brings us long nights and short days. A Midsummer Nights Dream is about the passion and multiple relations and 'making love' affairs that happen during those long nights; very much E2-ish indeed! The character of Titania and her entourage of elfs fits in perfectly as an E2 type. E7 traits however can also be found in the Sun as archetype. Jan
