: Kevin Spacey-9w1. His biggest complaint for his family is of being ignored and unimportant. His fantasies of his daughters teenage friend are of a peaceful, dreamy nature with sexual overtones. The ultimate nice guy until hes had too much. I see his character is an INFJ who is liberated and begins to explore extroverted sensation (exercise) and introverted thinking (willfulness with wife).

I disagree... the Spacey character's anger is rooted in frustration with the fact that his life does is untrue to the idealized image it projects. His sexual fantasies are idealized visions of 4ish longing and he is preoccupied by concepts of pure beauty. His major complaint is of being ignored and unrecognized which indicates he is in need of having his existance validated... validation he eventually DEMANDS. (Negative attention over no attention at all) He finds mental health when he stops wallowing in fantasy and self-pity.

I think he is an INFP, 4w5. This is one part of what's so clever about the movie... his own daughter's story mirrors for us new hope for the Spacey character despite his death... that she will learn the lesson early in life and not end up like her father.

: Annette Bening-1w9. Although she is three in many ways her 1 obsessive/compulsiveness is more evident than trying to flatter people.
: When stress overwhelms her she begins sobbing uncontrollably (1 to 4). The one need for autonomy causes her to snap out of her crying episodes by slapping herself in the face and scolding "be strong". Her sex affair and new passion for shooting guns represent the "Trapdoor" releases that ones may use to experience temporary intense gratifications in order to relieve the stress from their angry, supressed superegos.

: The realtor King-3w4. Stated the three mantra-success is everything. Workaholic like annette benning (1,3 and at times 8 are the workaholics of the e-gram). Marriage failed because of work addiction. When he and annette are discovered by her husband he cooly exits her life.

: Daughter-4w5. Has lack of identification with BOTH parents. Somewhat of a stereotype with dark clothes and sullen demeanor.

: Daughters friend-3w2. At school projects a strong image of being a worldwise slut. Does this in order to have a badgirl image and be cool. Constantly razzing the daughter not to relate with the neighbor boy as he is a weird psyco.

: Daughters boyfriend-5w4. Lives life as a voyuer. Films and observes rather than interacting on a viceral level. 5 ingenuity employed to keep prying father out of his personal life. Peers refer to him as 'strange and weird'. INTJ.

: Boyfriends father-Displays fanatical control over his space and possessions. Willingly employs violence to deal with problems. These are 8 qualities. 1 or 6 are also possible, however this character displays no qualities of 6 likeability or dependency. I think he is an ISTJ whose honor code based on a marine corp
: career are his moral/ethical life platform. Concepts of iS normalicy as defined by society
: govern the harsh manner he treats his son. ISTJ/INTJ father/son communication/life view problems are appearant.

: The end of the movie throws unexpected twists-the daughters friend is a virgin and the boyfriends father is a closet homo.
